Giving Garden Volunteering

The rise of food insecurity during the Covid-19 pandemic sprouted the creation of the Gainesville Giving Garden. They dedicate their time to delivering and growing organic vegetables to those who don't have access to fresh food. The Giving Garden has now partnered with the Free Grocery Store and Equal Access Clinics to serve fresh produce to over 300 residences.

Our community service team decided this would be a great organization to start our outdoor volunteering events for the Fall 2022 semester. We spent two hours removing weeds and cleaning up the garden for future expansion. Not only was this a great event for giving back to the community, but also a great opportunity for new members and officers to get to know each other!
